Lithuanian Company Claim of EUR 115,754 Against Russian Buyer

Posted on Dec 08, 2016

A Lithuanian company dealing with printing activities applied to our law firm with a request to help it recover the outstanding debt for the supplied goods in the amount of EUR 115,754 and penalties for late payment of EUR 5,843.48 from its customer, a Russian limited liability company.

Due to the fact that the agreement between the Lithuanian supplier and the Russian buyer did not contain a reference to the applicable law and the place of jurisdiction, after the careful analysis of the documents submitted by the client and attempts of out-of-court amicable settlement of that issue, our Russian business litigation lawyers decided to apply to the Arbitrazh court with a claim based on the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (1980).
